Choke manifold is operated to provide well control of flow back and flow fluids during well completion.
A choke manifold is also used in drilling and testing operations. In drilling, mud circulation is done through a choke manifold when the blowout preventers are closed. In well testing, a choke manifold allows flow and pressure control in order to test components downstream.
The adjustable choke allows the fixed choke to be changed during operations and provides greater flexibility for wellbore cleanup rates. The fixed choke gives more accurate flow control at differing test conditions. A choke manifold enables dual-flow paths in order to control flow to the downstream process equipment from the upstream control equipment.
Choke changes can be done with least interference to testing and operations. A choke manifold is used in appraisal well testing, well exploration, extended well testing, production testing, cleanup and flowback.
